Me and my Salomon Speedcross 4 Women's trail running shoes (and why I kinda love them)

Those who know me (Cheryl, that is), will know that I'm not exactly the sporty type. I know sporting things happen, and that people chase balls and jump over things and run fast and all of that, but it's not really for me. Or at least, it wasn't until I discovered the pure joy of running dog agility.

If you follow us on Facebook, you'll know that I like to post regularly on my runs with Indiana. We do pretty good, although we've still got loads to learn. However it's one of the most freeing activities I've ever undertaken, and I love spending time with Indie. I think she loves it too, although who knows?!

I'm going to be blogging about dog agility a lot. To begin with however, I wanted to start at the feet up, so to speak. That's because there's one thing that totally changed my game and helped me improve and that's my my Salomon Speedcross 4 Women's trail running shoes. A while ago, well into running dog agility, I was advised to invest in a pair of these bad boys. Since then, people often ask what I have on my feet. Well, it's these! And I'm not saying they caused me to win, but they certainly helped me and Indie with winning more swag!

They weren't cheap (you can get Salomons from Amazon from anywhere between £80 and £120 depending on if they are on sale) but I tell you what. They were game changers. I mean check out the grip on them - I fear no slippy muddy field now!

Comfortable footwear for dog agility

Aside from making me look frikkin' awesome, they are perfect for making sure I can run without worrying about slipping. They also are a comfortable fit and don't slide up and down my ankle, causing redness or blisters. TOP TIP: go half a size bigger from what you usually wear. Heed this advice! I was a fool and didn't, so had to send my first pair back and buy a half-size up. Now they fit like a glove, except a shoe-glove. A shove, maybe?

They are water resistant meaning my feet stay dry, even when the sky throws down buckets at us. Something I particularly like is the laces, which forgo the annoying 'make bunny ears and twist blah blah' nonsense, and just almost self tighten like Marty McFly's. Who has time to tighten shoelaces anymore?!

Making me and the dog agile!

If you are thinking about taking up dog agility seriously, these are the way to go to make sure you stay on your feet and are as agile as your dog. I'd say don't even bother trying anything else because you'll regret it but I'm not your Mum. Do what you want. I just know you'll regret it if you don't buy a pair!

Let me show you some more photos of them.

In conclusion about the Salomon Speedcross 4 Women's trail running shoes

There's not exactly much to conclude really. This isn't a review, it's a 'go and buy them and stop dithering' blog. I love these shoes, I am a convert, and I want to convert everyone else! Apparently they are also great for runners who aren't running with their dogs, but why would anyone be doing that? Sounds silly :) I only wear mine for when I'm doing agility so the grip doesn't wear down.

If you buy a pair of Salomon Speedcross 4 Women's trail running shoes using any of the links on this page, we'll get a percentage back from Amazon without you having to worry about a thing, and you certainly don't pay any extra by doing so. I just hope you love them as much as I do.
